This real Self is God - God the triumphant, God the Creator, God the Saviour of man. It is, in the words of St. Paul, "Christ in us, the hope of glory."

[When perhaps man realizes he has been directing his hope towards external factors, seeking the triumph, the glory, the achievement outside of his own self, he can realize the source of this state is his own self, and turn his attention inwards to seek it. By retrieving these outward streams of hope, one by one, consciously, can he then localize and identify the leaks in his inner stream of hope, of glory, realize they do not lead to the desired source, and realize they are not part of him. They can then be let go, processed, felt, healed, and the stream of Glory can flow wholer within.]
